About this itemoriginal WW1 & WW2 BRITISH MILITARY CROSS & TERRITORIAL DECORATION GROUP awarded to CAPTAIN A.M. DAWSON of the 14th HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT. Group comes with very well researched paperwork and Certified Copy of Entry OF Death.
Major Dawson was commissioned in 1911 and joined the Victorian College O.T.C. in 1913. Upon the outbreak of war he went to the 5th Hampshires, subsequently serving in the Wessex Division Signal Company. Early in 1915 he was wounded in action, and in 1917 was awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry and devotion in the Ypres Salient. In September 1919 he took over the command of the O.T.C. and in 1927 was awarded the Territorial Decoration. He died aged 81 on the 26th APRIL 1961 of Pulmonary embolism and Phelbo thrombosis of varicous of legs.
