    Scarce, original WW2 - 1957 GERMAN LUFTWAFFE SEA BATTLE BADGE highly prized by military collector's worldwide. Nice example with virtually all it's original silver and gold finish intact. German quality, in fine condition with a rich gilt colour rivaling it's wartime counterparts.

    HISTORY: Instituted on 27th November 1944, by order of Reichsmarshall Herman Goering, the Sea Battlle Badge was the very last instituted Luftwaffe war badge. Since Germany had no aircraft carriers or an air branch of the Navy, all personell who performed air related functions fell under control Goering and the Luftwaffe.

    The Seal Battle Badge was awarded to crews of the Luftwaffe supply ships, air/ sea rescue launches, and special surface vessels for combat actions and or rescue missions. Award critera 60 days in the North or East seas. 20 days at sea in the Mediterranean, including the Aegean and Black Sea. 10 sea days with a recorded successful rescue by Luftwaffe crews.
