    FREE FALL JUMPMASTER WINGS

HALO (High Altitude-Low Opening) & HAHO (High Altitude-High Opening) are also known as Military Free Falls (MFF).

This genuine Special Forces free fall badge consists of a dagger and arched tab superimposed over wings and a deployed 7-cell ram-air square parachute. The dagger, a Fairbairn-Sykes knife used by the rangers and Office of Strategic Services in WWII, symbolizes infiltration techniques used by special operations forces; the arched tabsymbolizes the tabs worn by special operations units; the wing suggests flight and airborne capabilities; the parachute is a depiction of an MT1-X, the first square parachute to beadopted by all military services as the standard military free fall canopy. Two degrees of the military free fall badge are authorized for award: Basic and Jumpmaster (basic badge design with the addition of a star and wreath)

A silver coloured badge, 1 31/32 inches (5.00 centimeters) in width, 100% genuine current Special Forces issue, regulation hallmarked (makers marked ) on the reverse V-21 by the US maker VANGUARD.

The first design for a proposed military free fall (MFF) badge came in March 1983. To earn the Military Freefall Badge, the military member first must receive all necessary ground training, already have earned the Parachutist Badge (jump-qualified), and must have completed the requisite free fall (night, combat equipment, oxygen) jumps. The Military Free-Fall Course is taught by Company B, 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) and lasts four weeks. The first week, ground week, is spent at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where students learn body stabilization, high altitude physiology, and aircraft procedures. The remaining three weeks are spent at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, where students conduct airborne operations.

A star and a laurel wreath, centered above the badge, is authorized for soldiers qualified as a Military Freefall Jumpmaster. Such qualification requires completing the Military Freefall Jumpmaster course, wherein the student learns how to be a jumpmaster in military free fall operations; course requirements include experience as a military free fall parachutist and completion of the static line jumpmaster course course.

These US SPECIALA FORCES HALO WINGS will make a stunning addition & investment to your collection
